Makoto Takashina, Architect has over 30 years of experience in architecture, interior design and planning/urban design.

Architect of many refined designs, he was selected as one of 400 most prominent architects in the US in "American Architects", Chicago Press. For his unique proposal, he received a meritorious award in an international urban design competition.

He served the Design Review Board, City of San Rafael, California. To assist the community of experimental artists, he worked as a member of architectural advisory board for Headlands Center for the Arts, Sausalito, California.

Educated and trained both in the US and Japan, his unique cross-cultural background forms the basis of his artistic and humanistic approach. Travelling various parts of the world, he has learned and appreciated the diversity of human cultures, expressed in architectural forms.

Makoto Takashina holds a M.Arch from the UC Berkeley and a B.Arch from Tokyo University. He is a licensed architect in the States of California.
