FTP Site: File Download/Upload

Makoto Takashina & Associates maintains an FTP site in our server for exchanging computer files with project team members: owners, consultants, contractors and others. To access this FTP site, you need a user name and a password issued by us.

You can use the FTP site to receive(download) files from us as well as to send(upload) files to us. We recommend that you use FTP client software to access the site for efficient file transfer (rather than a web browser). See the List of FTP Client Software below if you need FTP client software.

How to Download or Upload Files

1. If you are sending(uploading), we suggest that you should compress your files before sending(uploading) them to speed up the process.

2. If you do not have a FTP client software installed in your computer, click one of the software listed below to download and install a FTP client software;

3. Contact our project architect to obtain your user name and password, specific to the project/category you are working on. Note that both user name and password are case sensitive;

Your user name and password are valid for one project/category area. If you are working on multiple projects/categories with us, you will need a user name and a password for each project/category.

4. Open the FTP client software you have installed;

(The following instructions are for FileZilla. Other FTP software should work in a similar manner.)

5. In the FTP screen at the top left, there are spaces/boxes for host, user name and password. Type in ftp.takashinaarchitect.com as the host, then, your user name and password given by us. Underneath at the main part of the screen, the left side of the screen shows "Local Site", folders/files in your computer and the right side shows "Remote Site", folders/files in our FTP site;

6. Now you can access the project/category folder at our FTP site at "Remote Site" (right side of the screen). Under the folder are fromMTA and toMTA sub-folders;

7. If you are downloading (receiving) from us: Click fromMTA sub-folder and you see a list of files. Choose the files, click, highlight them (press ctrl key to select multiple files) and holding the mouse button, drop them off at the folder in your computer you desire to download into. The files are downloaded into your computer. Do not upload files to fromMTA sub-folder;

8. If you are uploading (sending) to us: Click toMTA sub-folder. Upload files from your computer to that sub-folder, using your mouse in similar manner as described above. Do not download files from toMTA sub-folder.

Notes

If your software cannot find our server at all, make sure you are using the address ftp.takashinaarchitect.com as a host name in your FTP client software screen.

Some FTP programs attempt to log on using the user name anonymous unless you set them up to use a specific user name. Our server won't accept an anonymous logon. You must use the user name and password given to you.

If you are trying to access the FTP site with a web browser (Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer, etc), the address would be:
ftp://ftp.takashinaarchitect.com. If you encounter problems accessing via web browser, please use FTP client software as recommended above.
